A comprehensive two-year Islamic study course divided into eight quarterly semesters. Study at home with emailed material, quizzes, assignments, and an annual exam.

There is no registration fee or tuition fee. Online study material is free. Shipping charges apply only if you request printed material. Some books may need to be purchased, or you may obtain your own copies from the suggested list.

Guided self-study. Every quarter, students are emailed course material in zip format, self-tests, and quizzes. Self-tests stay with the student. Completed quizzes are graded and kept on file; students are told pass or fail (not the numeric mark) and must retake any failed quiz. Transcripts are issued at year end. Students are advised to print all material and study from paper.
The annual exam is a three-hour paper of multiple-choice and essay questions, taken under the supervision of a person or centre you nominate and that Islamic Information e-Service authorizes. The exam is mailed to that supervisor and must not be disclosed to the student beforehand. You incur any local exam costs. An annual exam (rather than quarterly) is used so students revise and retain the year's material.
Semi-annual assignments are due 31 August and 28 February. They may be sent by email, online submission, or post. Audio assignments must be posted and post-marked before the deadline. Late or failed assignments must be resubmitted by the end of the next quarter.
Not ready to formally take the course? You can still access the study material after registering and study on your own. When you feel ready, enroll in the degree program and complete the assignments. Registration is done only once.
First year
During year 1, students will read Juz 21–30 with translation. Recitation with tajweed is preferred. This is not a complete list of course material.
1st quarterly semester

- Read Juz 21, 22, and half of Juz 23 with translation (one Juz per month). Recitation with tajweed preferred.
- Surah al-Tur 33–34 with commentary (About the Quran)
- Surah Yunus 66–67 with commentary (Philosophy and Islamic philosophy)
- Essentials of Islam (biweekly)
- Tafsir: al-Naba, al-Nazi'at, al-Mursalat, al-Dahr (biweekly)
- Surah memorization with meaning: al-Hadid, al-Mursalat
- Ulum al-Quran (summary translation, monthly)
- Quran & Science (I'jaz al-Quran)
- English communication — written composition
- Arabic Made Easy lessons 1–4
- Study calendar and miscellaneous mailings
2nd quarterly semester
- Read remaining Juz 23, then Juz 24 and 25 with translation
- Essentials of Islam (biweekly)
- Al-Riyah
- Tafsir of verse 73 of Surah al-Tawbah
- Tafsir: al-Qiyamah, al-Muddaththir, al-Muzzammil 1–19, Nuh, al-Jinn (biweekly)
- Surah memorization with meaning: al-Mursalat, al-Qiyamah, Nuh
- Ulum al-Quran (monthly)
- Introduction to Islamic history (summarized lessons and suggested readings)

- English communication — composition

3rd quarterly semester
- Read Juz 26, 27, and half of Juz 28 with translation

- Tafsir: al-Ma'arij, al-Haqqah, al-Qalam, al-Mulk (biweekly)

4th quarterly semester
- Read remaining Juz 28, then Juz 29 and 30 with translation
- Essentials of Islam (biweekly)
- Tafsir: al-Hujurat, al-Mutaffifin, al-Humazah, al-Takathur (biweekly)
- Surah memorization with meaning: al-Mutaffifin, al-Humazah, and related short surahs
- Ulum al-Quran, Quran & Science, Arabic, and communications as in previous quarters
- Annual exam on selected material from the whole year
Year 2 continues the same quarterly structure. Enrolled students receive the full reading list, quizzes, and assignment briefs each quarter.
